Why do you want to serve as an Expert Evaluator for the Localism Fund?

My life's work is using tools to solve socio-economic problems and build public goods. I've helped hundreds of regional environmental organizations use databases and other tech to boost their community organizing and advocacy work. Through my work at the Token Engineering Commons, I've seen how blockchain technology can help build the new economic models we will need to forge a new path for the future. That is why I am interested in the Localism Fund. I want to root Ethereum in the soil of local community, and see this network as the best bet for doing so. I am currently involved in neighborhood-scale community organizing in Seattle and that is giving me a hands-on sense for the opportunities and challenges for having real impact on this front.

I played a key role in designing the Token Engineering Commons (TEC) grant programs with Gitcoin.

I ran the mission driven, Groundwire consulting, which relied on a powerful hybrid model that fused philanthropic and earned income streams. I did a lot of grant writing and fundraising in that capacity and went deep on impact assessment through the use of theories of change and logic models:
