Why do you want to serve as an Expert Evaluator for the Localism Fund?

For some time now, I’ve been deeply interested in the idea of recognized regen communities serving as funding funnels for local impact initiatives, rather than being the direct executors of those projects. I believe local impact workers shouldn’t have to join regen groups to access funding or abandon their own initiatives to fit into existing regen agendas. The Localism Fund embodies this vision in practice, empowering local actors where they are.

Serving as an Expert Evaluator for the Localism Fund will give me firsthand insight into donor behavior, grantee behavior, and program operator dynamics. It will also allow me to apply the knowledge I’ve gathered from studying similar programs across different disciplines to help ensure the fund achieves its intended local impact.

Experiences, Highlights & Evidence:

I rated myself as a practitioner in Program Design & Management and Financial Strategy & Fundraising, and as emerging in Evaluation & Impact Learning and Governance Systems & Mechanism Design. Through my work with Rotary - Rotaract, I have designed and managed several community-based service programs with defined goals, measurable outcomes, and transparent reporting, strengthening my skills in program design, budgeting, and accountability. Serving as an evaluator for the GG23 Regen Coordination Round also added to this experience, which has tremendously improved my understanding of impact measurement and donor-grantee dynamics in grant programs.
